I, for one, stand for Mindanao peace! I am a Mindanaon and i know people outside our island is "cashing in" on this hyper-publicized conflict in Mindanao, when IN FACT, we are PEACEFUL here. Damn those popular media who exaggerate our peace condition here!
Ye, true! we do have some "violent skirmishes" here but Luzon and Visayas also have those. We are practically just more peaceful here because we have lesser petty crimes.
Travel and stay here. Walk around and know the people and you'd see, Luzon and Visayas are indeed not quite safer than Mindanao. Re-think your old thoughts about Mindanao and youd be surprise!
I do disagree with the MOA-AD and its speculative consequences, particularly the possibly "extension of the President". I think, this is the bigger issue and not Mindanao peace.
If GMA would be out after 2010, definitely the MOA-AD would not matter at all!
if you are indeed for Mindanao peace, then work here in Mindanao!! there is no better way to achieve peace than this because PEACE IS NEVER AN ABSENCE OF CONFLICT, IT IS AN ABSENCE OF SOLUTIONS!
