Bacolod: City of Smiles?

mga suplada ang mga taga-Bacolod? i silently asked myself as two Bacolod friends shared small trivias about their city. people of Bacolods (how are you called nga ba, Bacolodons?), they say, are:

1. suplada (daw);
2. asthmatic (or have lung problems); and
3. loves to eat

indeed, Bacolod has a big appetite. food abundantly abound the city, especially in the long stretch of Lacson Street. there are a number of Japanese resto. Kaisei is one. the best!

Bacolod loves to eat because they do not have much to do in their small city and the finest beach is 3-4 hours away.

as to their lung problems, sugarcane milling caused them. mills spew substances that are harmful to lungs. the sickness is "seasonal" though because milling is also seasonal. they funnily added, Bacolod is rich when people suffer from lung problems. obviously, sugarcane is Negros main crops.

Bacolod is suplada (daw) because people (including the poor) really felt and behaved wealthy. the rich lifestyle  of many hacienderos or big feudal lords este landowners in Bacolod is so immense, it trickled down to the poorest (the asinderos, as one taxi driver joked). such affluence included an elitist attitude: snobbish. Bacolod is so rich (daw), it once was known as Paris of the Philippines.

well, my two friends might be right in the causes of such frowning trivia, id initially disagree. for one, they both are friendly and not suplada, even on our first meeting. second, the JS promers who walked in the plaza where i jogged were all smiling.

Bacolod is another great small city with its food, old magnificent churches, ancestral houses, wide streets and Silay City. what only frowned me is the first crook taxi driver, who tried taking advantage of me as new to the city. kung naa pa ka diri sa Davao, patay ka na hahahahaha
